I’ve been thinking a lot about light lately. Winter days are short, and in these last several weeks, mostly gloomy.
And yet, beautiful light can be found when we look, when we pay attention, even if it’s fleeting.
There was a glorious moment this morning as I glanced out of my bedroom window on the way to the kitchen.
Looking east, the sun was coming up, spilling shades of rose, deep pink, and magenta onto the wispy ribbons of cloud stretching their arms westward.
Seconds later, coming back from the kitchen, the light was gone, blotted out by the new, thick, dark clouds rolling in.
It was only a moment, but that moment was a reminder to me that light is always there waiting to shine.
We just have to look.
