Pursuing Quiet Joy

Updated: May 14, 2020

I found myself at a bit of a loss last week.

I had a whole host of creative projects I wanted to pursue and didn’t. Treats I could have baked, photographs I could have taken, films I could have captured, seeds I could have planted, stories I could have told.... all left undone.

I was grieving.

Grieving the comfortable, the familiar, the known.

And that’s okay. God is with me in all circumstances, even when I falter.

He strewed my days last week with with encouragements that found me in my inbox, in my daily bible reading, on FaceTime calls, a long phone visit with a dear friend, and Zoom visits and virtual board games with family.

“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8-10

It’s a new day, a new week. This week I’m going to pursue quiet joy.

Its time to get back to daily routines. To noticing all those little joys and bits of beauty that are sprinkled through every day.

May you have a blessed week. One filled with quiet joy and creative adventure.
