Spring has Sprung
I grew up on the west coast of Canada about an hour or so east of Vancouver. Spring was green, drizzly and came early, flowers everywhere.
Now I live on the central prairies and have for nearly 40 years. It took over 25 for me to stop referring to B.C. as home. I missed that long, slow, damp, slide into spring. Edmonton springs come late, are cold, and drab. Muddy, sticky, often snowy... brown. Brown, brown and more brown.
Watching spring arrive, never, ever gets old.
For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone;
The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come. Song of Solomon 2:1–12a
